This week was Harrison and Henry’s 1st Birthday (according to their paperwork). Since they were rescued as a feral litter that’s a “best guess” estimate from the shelter. While we have their actual party planned for next week, they did get small presents on their birthday with more to come.
In preparation for the Cat Boys’ First Birthday Party, we worked on a variety of recipe experiments this week. The Chaos Crew showed up in full force to “help” and supervise.

Nikita wasn’t ready to join the cat pile (to the left) but needed to stretch out and relax too
Chaos Crew Updates
Axel
(also sometimes referred to as “Mr. Fluffy Tail”)
Axel’s normal routine was a bit disturbed by the kitchen time this week. He couldn’t miss what was going on but still needed his afternoon nap. Napping on the kitchen floor in the middle of everything was his obvious solution.
Axel knows that the middle of the floor is “the” place to be to make sure he’s not forgotten
“Are you done down here yet? Can we go upstairs so I can nap where it’s comfy?”
~Axel~
Nikita
(also referred to as “Cuddle Bunny”)
Nikita is much more of a supervisor than a hands-on participant in all Dinner Party Diaries activity. Usually, she plays production manager from her spot on the couch (through the backs of her eyelids). Alas, this week she had to migrate to the dining room chair so that she could monitor the kitchen activity from there.
“Supervision is an exhausting job, but someone has to do it. Carry on. I’m just going to rest my eyes for a minute while you finish that up.”
~Nikita~
“Okay, walk me through this again. Did you double check your math on that conversion?”
~Nikita~
Harrison (Ford)
Harrison has been quite entertained with his new birthday toy. He’s batted, carried, and chased it up and down from the 3rd floor to the basement and back again more times than I can count.
“I caught the toy. I killed the toy. See me carrying my prey. I am awesome.”
~ Harrison ~
“I’m cute and therefore I’m innocent. Right?”
~ Harrison ~
Henry (Ford)
Henry was less impressed with his new toy. He was far more interested in the empty (and rinsed out) salmon and tuna cans that were part of the recipe experiments.
“You go first, Harrison. Let me know if there’s still salmon on the can. I’ll distract her by eating the plant I’m supposed to leave alone.”
~Henry~
“Geesh. It was only a little nibble from the plant. Fine, I’ll stay up here in my cat tree and ignore you for the next several hours.”
~Henry~
Notes from Spunky
“I confess, I spend a lot of time with my head in my paws watching this crew try to manipulate the humans. It’s really unfortunate that they won’t get a chance to learn from the best. (That would be me.)
“Nikita gets the gold star this week, though. Her human communication skills are, by far, the best. She definitely got my note about waking Mom up by pawing at her face and biting her hair if you’re hungry in the morning. Good Job, Nikita! Keep it up and you’ll get your “Master of Manipulation” in no time. Boys, you’ve got some work to do.”
~Spunky~
Week in Summary
All in all, it was a good week for the Crew. There was, of course, the usual getting into trouble for trying to eat the plant. But that’s par for the course.
If you’re curious about what is involved in a Cat Boys’ First Birthday Party, tune in this coming week to find out.
